Our History
This timeline highlights key milestones in Beach Tennis UK’s development, from
tournaments and grassroots growth to community and inclusive activity.
2026 Delivered sessions for the Stay Strong, Steady and Independent programme for a second
year and continued community activity through family sessions and Team Domenica, with
a new women’s session and a third consecutive year of delivering beach tennis sessions for
the Ageing Well Festival beach tennis.
2025 15-Year Celebration Tournament featuring former top British and Team GB players.
Delivered sessions for Brighton & Hove Council’s Stay Strong, Steady and Independent
programme, and delivered beach tennis sessions for the Ageing Well Festival for
a second year.
2024 Delivered beach tennis sessions for the Ageing Well Festival for the first time, introducing
more older adults to the sport.
Took part in Brighton & Hove’s TAKEPART Festival for the tenth year, delivering beach tennis
activities as part of the city-wide programme in its final year.
2023 ITF BT10 – Barn Elms, London
British Beach Tennis Championships – Barn Elms, London
2022 Began working with Team Domenica, with inclusive beach tennis sessions delivered each
year since 2022 for young people with learning disabilities.
2021 9th British Beach Tennis Championships – Sandbanks, Poole
2020 8th British Beach Tennis Championships – Canford Cliffs, Poole
10-Year BTUK Anniversary Charity Tournament – Brighton Supporting Kennedy ST CIC
2019 British Beach Tennis Championships – St Albans (7th edition)
Regional Tournament – Teddington, London (1st regional event)
National Tournament – Isle of Wight in partnership with Wight Wave Sports
ITF BT10 – Brighton (7th time hosting)
Beach Tennis Poole began developing at Sandbanks
Began working with Grace Eyre, delivering inclusive beach tennis opportunities for people
with learning disabilities. (2019-2022)
