Stay Strong, Steady and Independent with Beach Tennis in Brighton

Beach tennis is a fun, social way to keep moving, build confidence, and support your strength and balance.

We’re proud to support Brighton & Hove’s Stay Strong, Steady and Independent campaign, which encourages local people to take simple steps to stay active, steady on their feet, and independent as they age.

As we get older, our muscle strength and balance can reduce, which may increase the risk of falls. The good news is that regular movement, balance practice, and strength-building activity can make a real difference. Falls are not an inevitable part of ageing.

Beach tennis is easy to get started with, sociable, and suitable for a wide range of abilities. Beach Tennis Lite can help with:

Improved strength
Moving around the court, reaching, stepping, and hitting the ball can help support everyday strength for tasks like getting up, carrying shopping, and climbing stairs.

Improved balance
Beach tennis encourages gentle movement, coordination, and footwork, helping people feel steadier and more confident.

Reduced risk of falls
Activities that support strength, balance, and mobility can help people move with more confidence and reduce the risk of slips and injuries.

Social benefits
It’s not just about exercise. Beach tennis is a chance to get out, meet people, have a chat, laugh, and enjoy being active together.

Whether you’re returning to activity, looking for something new, or simply want a friendly way to move more, Beach Tennis Lite is a fun, sociable and gentle way to enjoy getting active.
